Generator fuel desperately needed at Gaza Al-Shifa hospital

As Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip continues, the World Health Organization says the Palestinian territory's biggest hospital, Al-Shifa hospital, is "not functioning" and that there is "constant gunfire and bombing" around it. Israel's president, Isaac Herzog, says Hamas has a base underneath the hospital building - something Hamas denies.

A surgeon at Al-Shifa hospital, Dr Marwan Abu Saada, spoke to the 大象传媒's Paul Adams on Sunday evening, describing how newborn babies are at risk or have already died because the hospital's generators have run out of fuel. Power from the generators is needed to supply oxygen. He says the fuel offered by Israeli forces to the hospital is only enough to run the hospitals generator's for 30 minutes. "If we leave them [the babies] here in Gaza... I'm afraid they're going to lose their lives," he says.
