Campaigners against National Grid plans for a new electricity line between Kent and Suffolk say it should be put elsewhere because of wildlife fears.

The Sea Link project involves the construction of a converter station and electrical substation in Minster together with new overhead cables and pylons.

It's part of a scheme to lay a 90 mile undersea cable running between Pegwell Bay and Suffolk. Public consultation ends on the 18th December with the National Grid expected to submit its proposals to the Planning Inspectorate next year.

Sea Link told 大象传媒 Radio Kent 'We look forward to hearing views from members of the public and we welcome feedback on our proposals. This reinforcement between Suffolk and Kent is essential in the UK's journey to net zero by 2050 and is part of a wider programme to upgrade the entire network.'
