Reading Prison: still not sold, 10 years after closure

Ten years ago, the last inmate left Reading's historic jail, immortalised in a poem by its best known resident Oscar Wilde.

In the decade since, the local council, campaigners and celebrities have urged the Ministry of Justice to turn the former prison into an arts hub. But in September, the government said the sale of the prison was close to completing despite thousands signing an MP's petition against the plan.

大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Andrew Peach was at the gates of Reading Prison on the day it closed, speaking to the final offender to leave the prison. In the ten years since then, he's asked prime ministers, secretaries of state and ministers the same question - what is happening to Reading Prison?
