Net migration into the UK was a record 745,000 last year - far higher than originally thought. Office for National Statistics data published on Thursday showed that experts have revised up previous estimates. In total nearly 1.3 million more people came to the UK than left in the past two years. The prime Minister鈥檚 spokesman said migration was putting "unsustainable pressure on communities and councils" and it was clamping down on dependents of students arriving in the UK.
