Elgin Marbles: do they belong in Britain?

On Sunday the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, said having some of the sculptures in London and the rest in Athens is like ripping the Mona Lisa in half. A government source says Downing Street believed they had assurances from the Greek government that they would not raise this issue in public while the Greek PM was in the UK - so in response Rishi Sunak cancelled a planned meeting with Mr Mitsotakis. The Greek PM expressed his "annoyance" at the snub in a statement saying he regretted not having the chance to talk about them and other international challenges such as "Gaza; Ukraine; the climate crisis; migration.鈥 So what do you think - was Mr Sunak right to cancel the meeting?
