Defoe & Deeney Football Firsts: Going Abroad
Jermain and Troy discuss the first time they travelled abroad to play. They recall the best foreign stadiums and the worst trips they had.
Jermain and Troy discuss the first time they travelled abroad to play. They recall the best foreign stadiums, the worst trips they had, and what they did to quell the boredom of long pre-season tours in random towns and cities around the world.
Troy recalls how one manager tried to make him lose so much weight that he ordered a staff member to go and buy him a Crunchy Nut and a bag of sweets, whilst Jermain muses on why, under Jacques Santini, he once played 13 pre-season games.
They look back on the films they watched to kill time, laugh about how David Moyes ordered Jermain back onto a plane that had suffered engine failure, and Troy is amazed to discover that the rapper Drake called Jermain when he joined Toronto FC.
