Veteran receives medal after 70 year wait
A Leicestershire veteran has ended a wait of nearly 70 years after being recognised for his service in nuclear weapons tests in the 1950's.
Roy Davenport, from Barlestone, was one of the 40,000 British personnel who took part in the tests on Christmas Island.
After campaigners fought for years for him to receive his medal, it was finally presented on Remembrance Sunday 2023.
Ady Dayman went to hear his story.
