Explained: Changes to DIY waste charges at the tip
From Monday 1st January 2024 you can dump small amounts of waste from your DIY and home renovation projects at your local household recycling centre, for free. Normally you would be charged for the service but the government has instructed councils to scrap the fee in its attempt to combat fly-tipping.
