'We knew what Post Office was saying wasn't true'
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak says the government will bring in a new law to "swiftly exonerate and compensate victims" of the Post Office scandal.
Under the plans, victims will be able to sign a form to say they are innocent in order to have their convictions overturned and claim compensation.
Between 1999 and 2015, the Post Office prosecuted 736 sub-postmasters and mistresses based on the faulty Horizon IT system. More than 700 branch managers were given criminal convictions - only 93 of these convictions have been overturned.
So far, nobody at the Post Office, or at Fujitsu, has been held accountable. The Horizon system is still used by the Post Office - which describes the latest version as "robust".
