The teacher who found the Alaskan Airlines 1282 door plug in his garden
Last week, the cabin panel of an Alaska Airlines 737 Max 9 jet blew off mid-flight. It was a frightening moment for all those on board the flight from Portland, Oregon; they were left with a gaping hole in the side of the plane and ripped headrests off seats.
But it was a lucky escape for one family on the ground. Physics teacher Bob Sauer found the panel in his backyard in Portland. But he didn't even know it was there until two days after it had fallen. Had he been expecting to find it?
