'This is all about re-establishing deterrent'
The Conservative MP for Rutland and Melton Alicia Kearns says she would have welcomed the chance to scrutinise the decision to attack Houthi rebels but supports the government's stance for now.
Drone and rocket attacks on cargo ships in the Red Sea prompted US and UK-led forces to stage air strikes on targets in the region. Western forces took action after vessels were attacked by the Houthis - an Iran-backed rebel group which controls a large part of Yemen.
Rishi Sunak is to address MPs later for the first time since the UK joined US strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen.
Alicia Kearns, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, told Ady Dayman that she backs government action for now but there needs to be wider discussion of what happens next.
