[00:00:00] ED: Before you listen to this episode of The Traitor's Uncloaked, please be warned that there is strong language.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Sounds. Music, radio, podcasts. ED: Hello and welcome to this extra tasty ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sounds bit, and alongside me in the dingy dungeon, I've got Ivo Graham, Alex from Series 1, and recently reunited mother and son, Diane and Ross!

ROSS: Hello! ED: Now, we do have a little game lined up for, for you, Diane and Ross, uh, but a couple of, couple of questions beforehand, and I'm sure these guys might have, Have some things that they want to know. Um, If you had been traitors, now I know Diane, you swear blind that you absolutely would be a bad traitor and you wouldn't want to do it.

But, question to both of you, who do you think you would have murdered first if you had that responsibility? ROSS: Would've murdered mum. ED: Imagine if you were a traitor and straight out the gate you murdered Diane. ROSS: I would have gone strong on mum. Uh, I don't know. To be honest, who got murdered first? ED: It was Aubrey.

ROSS: Oh, it wouldn’t have been, [00:01:00] it definitely wouldn't have been Aubrey. DIANE: definitely not Aubrey. ED: No, I think we're all gutted that Aubrey got murdered first. I wanted to hear more about Aubrey and Luthor Vandross and. ROSS: I mean, I probably, like, they played a good game. I probably would have gone Kyra because she was so strong, opinionated, smart, you know, you go for the strong players, right?

DIANE: But I'm also not sure, but I think you also need to look at keeping in people that like you. You know, I wouldn't have got rid of Kyra, I got on well with her. ROSS: Who would it have been then? DIANE: Well, I'm not sure because I think if you go into the game as a faithful or as a traitor, you have a completely different mindset.

So I didn't go in as a traitor. So I couldn't answer that question now sitting here. IVO: My client doesn't deal in hypotheticals. DIANE: Thank you. ED: But I think, I think you're right. You can't go out there and get rid of someone that you think is strong or you necessarily Uh, you know, you may have got rubbed up the wrong way, I'm not saying anyone rubbed you up the wrong way, Diane. DIANE: Good. ED:  I'm [00:02:00] not saying that at all, but I think you would have been crazy if you were a traitor to get rid of the person that you'd actively had a bit of a, bit of an argument with, a bit of friction with, you've just got to go random, maybe Aubrey was the best choice for that, for that reason, but I want to hear about your most memorable moments in the game, do either of you have an absolute highlight that when you look back on the traitor's experience, you'll think, yes, that was the moment, I was truly enjoying it.

DIANE: Mine was robbing graves. ED: Yeah. ALEX: Like a gazelle. DIANE: I've only dug in a grave once. Um, so actually robbing one was, but robbing, ED:  did you say you've only dug in a grave once? DIANE: Yeah. Yeah. I have actually. So no, this is a true story. So when I'm slightly sad, but when my grandpa died, we find that he wanted his wife's urn to be buried with him.

Nobody bothered. Well, that's not true. They hadn't realized that that was his wish and I made inquiries and you actually have to have a whole funeral service again. I thought, well, I'm going to just do this quietly. So my ex was on. Yeah, my [00:03:00] ex was on watch out. So the coffin sitting there and the piled all the soil on top and they're waiting for everything to rest.

And I thought, you know what, you stand and look out and I'll go and make a big hole and put it was in a shoe box. And it said, I want this to be buried with me, love daddy, because in Northern Ireland, you still call your mom and dad in Belfast, mommy or daddy, whatever you are. IVO: Imagine that calling your mom, mommy.

ROSS: I know. Thank God I had to just stick to Diane. DIANE: Yeah. So I basically buried it in with the soil so that if the grave diggers saw it, then they would know it was a wish. And I was just fulfilling somebody's wish.  ALEX: What was this in the Stealth of Night? DIANE: You know what we did at the daylight? We thought that would be the best time to do it.

ED: How do you avoid the spotlights? DIANE: Ducking and weaving. ALEX: So that's why you were so good in the challenge. You had experience before. ROSS: She was like a gazelle. Did you see her? ED: It was amazing. DIANE: It was amazing. I just loved it. It was great fun. Loved it. ED: What about you, Ross? ROSS: Well, mine has nothing to do with Robin Graves, um, in real life or the [00:04:00] show.

I'd say the first challenge when we were in the boats, but you know, you get tied up, you got to get yourself out there on the boats in the water. I just feel like the challenge was, it had so many facets to it, you know, it was fun. Um, and like, When Jazz jumped out and grabbed that shield, it was just the funnest thing to just row away from him.

Bless him, he couldn't swim, but he'd just gone out for himself. ED: That was a crazy decision. I think, Jazz, did Kyra get one in that first mission? ROSS: Yeah, yeah, yeah. ED: As soon as she was untied, she went and got a shield and people were still tied up. I just, you could already see the gameplay happening. Was there like a, was there a dream way the game could have played out for you two?

Was there a way that you were going to use being a secret mother and son? In the game that you didn't get a chance to. ROSS: I mean, the dream would have just been to win the money, right? ALEX: The cash money! DIANE: I would have had Ross as a traitor. I think we'd have got a lot further if he'd been a traitor, actually.

ED:  Interesting. DIANE: Definitely, but I think so. ROSS: I don't know if it worked to our advantage or disadvantage, it [00:05:00] kind of, it was, it's entertaining and it was fun for us to have, like, go around the castle having a little secret or whatever. DIANE: We didn't really have a game plan and I think that was what let us down, I'm not sure about you two when you went in, we didn't, we were just in for a laugh, you know, I couldn't believe I kept being, was still there, I wish we had done, you know, thinking, I mean we did.

Chat, but then we never agreed on anything either when we did talk. ROSS: No, not a single thing. DIANE: you know, he wanted ROSS: not a single thing. DIANE: He thought somebody was a traitor. I, you said Harry at the first day. I said nonsense. I said, Antony, you said nonsense. And it continued like that. So it wasn't particularly beneficial. ROSS: It's a lot like real life, to be honest.

ED:  Whenever you two got together, it seemed to just have a quick sort of mother and son bickering session. Yeah, yeah. ROSS: And away we go. DIANE:  Just let off the steam. Yeah, basically. Well, we kept being frightened that we would be, you know, exposed. Um, you know, I think if you give anybody any excuse, you would be out.

ROSS: Yeah. And I think in general, like, we just didn't have the opportunity. DIANE: No. ROSS: It's funny. DIANE: We didn't have the opportunity. ROSS: I quite like how You know, [00:06:00] the game is just the game, you get left to your own devices, there's no real intervention at all, which I kind of thought there would be more of. So apart from at breakfast when I got put down and then you came, that was it.

And we had to like make our own way and have a secret little whisper here and there. It's hard there's so many people and it's like IVO: you're under so much scrutiny. It's like my parents always say I would have said I love you, but I've had to move my mouth. It’s just easier not to.

ED:  Right, we're gonna play this game i'm sure it's a game that you've heard of before It's normally called mr and mrs. It's called mother and son today Um, we are going to ask you, uh some questions Uh, and the answer will either be yourself or the other person. Uh, and we're gonna see if those answers match up.

So, here we go. Who is the most trustworthy? Please write down a name. Both considering. ROSS: That's a tricky one. ED: Okay, please reveal who you think the most trustworthy [00:07:00] is. Interesting. Now, Ross has written Diane, and Diane has written Diane and Ross. DIANE: First. Diane first. But Ross says it's trustworthy. ROSS:Oh, that's cheating.

And I would have put two as well. ED: Well, can I tell you what happened, Ross, is I was watching Diane write that down, she wrote Diane and paused for, I'd say, 15 seconds. And then wrote, I'll just put Ross as well actually. You both answered Diane, is what I'm gonna say there. Um, who's the best game player? ROSS: Mum, it's not even a question.

It's not even a question.

ED: Spin around for me. Oh, okay. Well, Diane's gone with herself and Ross has gone with himself. ROSS: Oh, absolutely not. DIANE:  Oh, I'm a much better game player. ROSS: Really? DIANE:  Yes. Yeah, yeah. ROSS: Who got further? ED:  Yeah. It's undeniable. Ross got further. DIANE:  No, not the traitors, maybe, but other games I am better at. ED:  What other games? What are the games at home that you play?

DIANE:  We play board [00:08:00] games. ROSS: Yeah, we play, uh, DIANE:  Celestrations. Illustrations, codenames, articulate. We used to play Dungeons and Dragons. We played Dungeons and Dragons for years. And he used to rob me when we were sleeping. He used to take the treasure, tied it up, stole our treasure. It was horrible. ROSS: Again, all in the game.

DIANE:  I know, but I'm, yeah, well. ROSS: Yeah, yeah. I'm 100 percent a better game player. ALEX: Have you played the Traitor's Board game together yet? ROSS: We actually haven't though, not yet. DIANE:  We have got it. ROSS: We've got it. DIANE:  Somebody bought a Ross. Santa bought Ross a traitors boardgame. IVO: That is incredible. Thank God. DIANE: And do you know what Santa bought Diane?

Traitors’ Cloak. ALEX: Why are you not wearing it today? DIANE:  I did. I wore it into a restaurant because my friend said, Oh, you'll have to wear sunglasses now people will recognize you when you're out. I thought this isn't going to happen, I know I'm just going to put my traitor's cloak on just for a laugh and arrived in.

First of all, I walked into the door because I couldn't see out of the hood and then I tripped into the restaurant so I would have been a really bad traitor. ROSS: I bought her the cloak for Christmas and she didn't even try it on. I was going, Mom, come on, [00:09:00] try it on. She just refused. DIANE:  Well, we'd been drinking.

ROSS: That's not Christmas. DIANE:  It's not appropriate, really. Anyway, moving on. ED: Thank you, Diane. Out of the two of you, who was the most popular inside the game? Be honest. I think there's arguments for both, you know, so it's going to be an interesting answer. Spin them around. ROSS: I write like a 12 year old, I'm so sorry, can you read that?

ED:  Yes, you've written Rass and Diane. ROSS: Was that Northern Irish? ED: Rass. Rass. And Diane has written Ross, so I think you've both gone with Ross there. ROSS: Yeah. I think, to be honest, from my point of view, I thought in the game, I didn't think Mum had such like a following or made so many connections, but actually watching it back, turns out you did.

ED: Yeah. ROSS: You really did. DIANE: But you're more personable. I take longer for people to, well, I'm Marmite apparently, according to social media. ED: You don't want to listen to that. DIANE:  That’s ok I love Twiglets. Yeah. Um, but people are, [00:10:00] people are drawn to you. You're definitely, yeah. ED:  This is quite lovely, isn't it? I didn't realise this was going to be so sweet.

I wouldn't have done it if I'd known. Um, out of the two of you, who is the funniest member of the WhatsApp group? And I'm assuming this refers to the Traitors Series 2 cast WhatsApp group, which I'm hoping that you both know exists. ALEX: That would be awkward. DIANE:  That would be embarrassing, um. ED:  Let's see ‘em, spin ‘em around.

Yeah, you've gone for it. You've gone for yourself. ROSS: Oh, you're not. You absolutely not. ED:  What sort of things do you send on the WhatsApp group? DIANE: I play on words as well. ROSS: We're not playing Scrabble, Mum. DIANE:  Come on. Paul mentioned something about going on a trip or something, and I said, so that would be your ego trip, Paul.

ED:  Oh, lovely. That's good stuff. DIANE:  Well, he was responsible for my death, so yeah, yeah. ROSS: I mean, if anyone has to repeat their joke, and also remember like a little one liner they did, that means that they [00:11:00] don't do it very often. You've just done one, you've done a single one liner and you've remembered that. Come on, I think that tells you everything you need to know, right?

IVO: All I'm hearing is one joke from Diane and none from Ross. That's all I'm hearing. ROSS: Yeah, but I gave them out on the show. The traitor's uncloaked. ED: Who was the most influential player? ROSS: It's so, it's so difficult. Let's see ‘em. ED: Oh, you've written each other now, but you think each other are the most influential.

ROSS: Well, I kept putting my own name down, so I thought I'd better change it. DIANE: No, I think he won't. ROSS: No, I think maybe at the round table and in terms of getting people out, I was, but I think in terms of genuine people, you know, just gravitating towards you, and at the end, I think it was different at the start, but at the end you had your posse and people were listening to you a lot more.

I don't know, I think it's probably both, really. DIANE: I thought he was more influential, I think. ED: You did, [00:12:00] you did manage to mobilize people, I think, quite a lot, Ross. Even though ROSS: In the wrong direction. ED:  It was completely in the wrong direction. ROSS: Somebody had to. ED:  Um, only a couple more. Who's the better liar? Yeah, you've both gone with Ross.

That's perfect. ALEX: That wasn't even a moment for reflection. Straight pen to board. ROSS: Not that I am a liar, but it's just, you know, I can, I can hoodwink people. I should have been a traitor. DIANE: In a game. ROSS: In a game, I should have been a trader. ED: You were a trader. ROSS: Oh, I was? It was so short and sweet.

I didn't get to banish anyone. Murder anyone. ED: Who makes the best roast dinner?

Ross, you've gone for yourself. ROSS: Of course I have. ALEX: You cheeky shit. ROSS: Of course I have. DIANE: When have you ever made roast dinner? IVO: They were cut out of the edit. He did so many at the castle but they were cut out of the edit. ROSS: The editors didn't show that. ED:  Um, have you ever made roast dinner for your mum? DIANE: No. ROSS: No, not for mum to be fair, no.

Never. [00:13:00] Never, haven't. No. ED: Why not? ROSS: Well, because she takes charge in the kitchen and it goes tits up, obviously. ED: Well, Diane has written Diane times 100. ROSS: Wow, that's a lot of Diane, yeah. ED:  Thank you very much for that.
