Hereford named 'pothole capital of England'
We put the claims of a new survey to the test on the roads (and potholes) of Hereford.
Experts have analysed data from FixMyStreet.com which looked at sixty nine English cities, and compared the number of pothole reports relative to the population.
It found that Hereford had an "unusually high number of potholes" - so high, in fact, that it's been named the most pothole-riddled city in England.
Our reporter Tom Edwards has been to look at the evidence.
Herefordshire Council says potholes are "a scourge of highways authorities up and down the country", and that the county's roads network spans 2,100 miles - enough to stretch from Land's End to John O'Groats two-and-a-half times.
The statement adds that the council is rated as being "more responsive" than many other authorities, when it comes to pothole repairs - with 拢27 million being spent on the roads network this year.
