Is Rugby Bad for Kids?

Is Rugby Bad for Kids? 5 Live listeners have their say with Nicky Campbell….

A new study says allowing children to take part in impact sports - like rugby and boxing - should be considered a form of child-abuse. Researchers from Winchester, Nottingham Trent and Bournemouth Universities say that parents don't fully understand the long-term risk of brain injuries...and that sports organisations are effectively "grooming" adults to ignore the consequences. This morning Nicky spoke to: Eric Anderson, Professor of sport at the University of Winchester and one of the authors of the report; as well as callers… Francesca in Manchester; Jack in Edinburgh; and Nick in Shepherds Bush – also known as TV presenter Nick Knowles who was listening to the programme and is a massive rugby fan.
