Racheal Kundananji: the most expensive women’s football player?
Racheal Kundananji has signed for Bay FC for what is believed to be a record transfer fee
Racheal Kundananji has joined National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side Bay FC for what is believed to be a world record transfer fee for a women’s football player.
The Zambian international makes the move from Spanish side Madrid CFF to the team based in the Californian city of San Jose for a fee which is reported to be more than the amount paid by Chelsea to Levante for the Colombian forward Mayra Ramirez in January 2024.
The new US franchise team is making waves in the transfer market ahead of the new NWSL season, with Kundananji the six-time and reigning African Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala and the former Manchester City and Arsenal defender and four-time Women's Super League winner Jen Beattie also joining the team.
