Make a Difference: Green Award Winner 2023

Mary Deboos set up Ringwood Actions for Climate Emergency to help the environment.

The 大象传媒 Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards celebrate people who are going above and beyond to make a difference where we live.

Mary Deboos won the Green Award in 2023.

She set up Ringwood Actions for Climate Emergency (RACE) in 2019 and has worked tirelessly to bring the community together to help the environment.

Her charity organises the town's annual Eco Fair, runs clothes swap events and plants habitats for pollinators.

Her community fridge in the library collects food waste from supermarkets for people to take for free.

RACE also leases land to grow trees from seed and has planted more than 28,000 saplings in the area.

Nominations are open now for the 大象传媒 Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards and close on the 10th of March at 11:00pm.
