Martin Lewis explains new energy price cap prices
Martin explains what is likely to happen with energy prices over the next 12 months – and what it might mean for your bill.
Energy prices are expected to drop in April, and again the summer, before rising in October.
The Price Cap was introduced on 1 January 2019 by regulator Ofgem, with the aim of preventing the millions of households on expensive variable tariffs from being ripped off.
As Martin explains, "The next move is on the 1 July, the current prediction for that which is far less certain and we're in that assessment period is a drop of 10% again".
He says how if you look across the next year's price cap changes, consumers can be looking forward to "paying 17% less than the current price cap" over the next year.
