'I climbed Africa's highest mountain... backwards'
A personal trainer from Northampton in the UK is thought to be the first person to successfully climb backwards up and down Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
Ben Stewart was trying to raise awareness and money to help people look after their heart, health and wellbeing.
Ben reversed to the peak of Africa's highest mountain, over 5,800m, and back to raise money in memory of his grandfather who died prematurely from a heart attack. Newsday asked him why he chose to walk in such an unconventional way to the top of Africa's biggest mountain.
"Just to bring some awareness for more people to look after themselves... I really wanted to stand out and do something unique."
"I was really just humbled by the Tanzanian porters. It was incredibly challenging and hopefully the fundraising will reflect that."
