Could wild wolves be reintroduced to Lincolnshire?
An environmental adviser has suggested reintroducing wolves into the wild in Lincolnshire as a way of controlling the local deer population, after a large herd was filmed crossing the A15 in the county, holding up traffic.
Ben Goldsmith says the deer are wrecking crops and vegetation as well as posing a risk to traffic, and that bringing back native wolves and lynxes would provide natural predators and keep numbers down.
But former NFU president Minette Batters believes that while the deer population needs culling, it would pose a threat to livestock and the public.
