She has been shortlisted for student nurse of the year, outstanding contribution to student affairs and the Mary Seacole award. Ms Loheswaran said it was "privilege and an honour" to be shortlisted.
She said: "Some of my lecturers suggested I apply this year. I did not have much confidence in myself, so just gave it a go thinking nothing of it. "Then I got three emails through, and I could not quite believe it, to be able to go to the finals in London next month will be amazing." "One of the categories is the Mary Seacole award for outstanding contribution to diversity and inclusion, which is incredible."
PRESENTER: Our next story concerns the news that Cornwall Council has successfully bid for funding to get the first electric buses in the county with the money coming from the Department for Transport ZEBRA 2 fund. TRANSLATION This funding will allow all of the Truro park and ride fleet to be replaced by electric buses next year. Six more electric buses are due to be introduced in south-east Cornwall in a partnership with Plymouth City Council. Councillor Richard Williams-Pears said he wanted to "continue to drive down carbon emissions". Mr Williams-Pears, the Cornwall Council cabinet portfolio holder for transport, said: "Our Transport for Cornwall fleet is already one of the youngest in the country, with low-emission buses connecting communities throughout Cornwall. "Working with our operators, we want to continue to drive down our carbon emissions and this funding from the Department for Transport enables work to begin on the next phase, replacing diesel with electric."

TRANSLATION According to the zoo they are "really pleased" to welcome the Tamarins from Jersey Zoo. Zoo communications boss Varshana Trudgian said the family was made up of a mother, father and their two female offspring both aged three. Nessie, Cain and youngsters Kelpie and Selkie will be permanent zoo residents. Newquay Zoo is part of Wild Planet Trust - a conservation organisation that is helping to halt species decline. Pied tamarins are native to Brazil and can only be found within a small section of the Amazon rainforest. Ms Trudgian said it is hoped the presence of the "amazing" pied tamarins will educate visitors. "We have had pied tamarins in the past and are really pleased to be home to this critically endangered species once more," she saidThat鈥檚 all from me, have a good week.
