Could genetic testing help reduce your risk of breast cancer?
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, with 1 woman diagnosed every 10 minutes. Some people are at higher risk of developing it because they have defects in certain genes.
Genetic testing is empowering some women to find out if they have these faulty genes, opening up options to manage the risk if they do. Helen Skelton - who has a family history of breast cancer - has been to meet some of them, including a member of our Morning Live family. She finds out what to do if you have a family history, and what checks you should be asking your GP for.
