In recent years, net migration to the UK has reached a record high. That’s despite promises made in the wake of Brexit that the number of people coming into the UK would come down. But at the same time, we sometimes hear that more workers from overseas are needed to fill vacant jobs here. It can be a confusing picture – with political posturing making it hard to get to grips with the numbers.
