The train arriving in Barrow will be two weeks late
Friday's train derailment at Grange-over-Sands has blocked the Barrow and Lancaster line and rail expert Tony Miles says, "I've not seen anything quite like this for a long time, and it was quite fortunate the train stayed upright, and it wasn't a more serious derailment". An investigation into the accident has begun and a heavy crane will lift the train back onto the track. It will be two weeks before the line reopens, and in the meantime a bus replacement service is in operation.
