They were the hashtags that rocked the film industry nearly a decade ago - #oscarssowhite and #metoo made Hollywood commit to try and bring about greater inclusivity.

This year, Lily Gladstone became the first Native American to gain a Best Actress Oscar nomination, but only one actor of colour won an Academy award. And the number of women directing top box office movies seems to have dropped slightly.
