The Hardest Geezer's toughest challenge
Russ Cook set out almost a year ago from the southernmost tip of Africa. Today he reached the northernmost part of the continent, after running more than ten thousand miles.
Russ Cook has already set records for the fastest marathon while pulling a car, and for running from Istanbul to his home town of Worthing in West Sussex. Now, he's completed his greatest feat - traversing the entire length of Africa on foot. The ultrarunner - who calls himself the Hardest Geezer on social media - began his epic journey in South Africa's Cape Agulhas on April 22 2023. During his year on the road, he's survived being robbed at gunpoint and held by men with machetes. Sixteen countries later, he's finally crossed the finish line in the continent's northernmost point in Tunisia. He's been speaking to the 大象传媒's Ellie Price about his achievement.
