East Mids Airport Control Tower is 25 years old
It's a special day for the team at East Midlands Airport, as its Control Tower turns 25 years old.
The 51-metre high structure opened in 1999, housing staff who oversee around 200 flights a day. The tower is the fourth tallest of its kind in the UK.
Bosses say that 22 million pounds is being spent on new technology, improved radar and faster display systems which will future-proof the airport for the next 25 years.
Tina Dennis has worked at the Centre for more than a quarter of a century and has been sharing her memories with 大象传媒 Radio Leicester's Conor O'Grady.
