‘I play snooker to perform on the biggest stage’ - Hossein Vafaei on pressure and not fearing anyone

Hossein Vafaei says he doesn’t fear anyone ahead of returning to the World Snooker Championship, but admits the support and pressure from his home country of Iran can be “too much”.

Vafaei is playing at The Crucible in Sheffield – the venue of the annual World Snooker Championship – for the third consecutive year and he tells the ý's Jamie Broughton that the pressure he faces can lead to him not sleeping before matches.

The qualifier returns to The Crucible a year after knocking out China’s Ding Junhui in round one in 2023.
