St Ives Food Bank, which provides meals and other services to residents in crisis, was nearing the end of its tenancy at Chy an Gweal chapel. The Edward Hain Centre (EHC), located at the former hospital building in St Ives, offered the food bank a new home as it was a "vital resource" for residents.EHC centre manager Sharron Goldingay said the centre had rooms available for the food bank's needs but added there would soon be extensive renovations in the building. "The food bank is a vital resource to local residents affected by food poverty," she said. The new location is closer to majority of people it supports and will improve efficiency as they deliver over 2,500 meals per week.

The former international rugby player had played much of this season at his hometown club Camborne before a spell at Japanese side Red Hurricanes in Osaka. But the move abroad means the former Bath, Exeter, Worcester, and Racing player can鈥檛 play, despite training with the Cornwall side. 鈥淗e chose to have the opportunity to return to Japan, just for a couple of games, a short while ago and then wanted to re-register for Camborne," Cornwall chairman of selectors Kevin Thomas.
