RAF Scampton: What will the new agreement mean?
West Lindsey District Council says it has reached an agreement in principle with the Home Office to have access to part of the former RAF Scampton site, to start work on a 拢300 million pound regeneration plan.
The scheme was put on hold when the Home Office declared its intention to use the site as an asylum centre until October 2027, which led to the council taking the case to the High Court.
As a result of the agreement West Lindsey District Council has withdrawn its legal action against the government, which in turn has reduced the number of migrants it plans to house on the site.
