ICC Men's T20 World Cup in New York: Meet the NYPD cricket team

The New York Police Department might have been made famous by the Pogues smash hit ‘Fairytale of New York’, and the TV show NYPD Blues, but did you know that they have smash hits of a very different kind?

The NYPD has their very own cricket team with their players hailing from all over the world but what sort of impact will the T20 World Cup have on the growth of the sport in the city?

Detective Ahmed Chohan, and co-founder of the team told Stumped reporter Charlotte Swift how the team was formed and the opportunities they’ve had to promote cricket around the world.

The US is staging 16 of the 55 matches at the T20 World Cup, which it is co-hosting with the West Indies and the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, a pop-up stadium in New York will host India's clash against Pakistan, as well as seven other World Cup matches.
