Writtle fights back over pylon scheme
Writtle Parish Council has erected a mini pylon structure in the village, over concerns about the 114 mile (184km) Norwich to Tilbury power line. A public consultation for the scheme to carry electricity from offshore wind farms will end on 26 July. Report by Leigh Milner.
A spokesperson from National Grid said "Around 41,000 Essex residents living within one kilometre of the proposed route of our Norwich to Tilbury project have received a newsletter with information on our public consultation. Our three public consultations have generated a lot of interest, with more than 7000 attendees at 40 in-person events and 17 webinars, with five further webinars planned next month. We have received more than 11,000 pieces of feedback so far".
