Jannik Sinner: On top of the tennis world
Jannik Sinner is on top of the world.
The Italian, who reached the semi finals of last week's French Open, is the brand new world number one.
He replaced Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam champion who withdrew from his French Open quarter-final against Casper Ruud after tearing the medial meniscus in his right knee, requiring surgery.
It's the first time Sinner's reached the summit of the men's game, and he told Sport Today's Lee James what the achievement means.
