Do you need to be careful of supermarket loyalty card ‘spending challenges?’
Supermarket shoppers are being warned about loyalty card 'spending challenges', with some consumer groups and debt charities claiming that it could encourage people to spend more than they can afford. Research says 94% of people aged 66 and over use at least one loyalty card. With the Competitions and Markets Authority set to announce findings in July on whether pricing for loyalty customers is fair, consumer champion Vix Leyton has tips and advice about using these schemes to your advantage, and reducing spending on your supermarket shop.
