Tamworth woman's anger at 'preventable' cancer
a story of a rare, preventable cancer - that some might think in 2024 is a thing of past.
But sadly that's not the case. And that is cancer caused by asbestos.
You're going to hear now from Emily-Jane Scandrett from Tamworth who has a terminal cancer called Mesothelioma - but has no idea when or where she was in contact with the asbestos in the first place.
She says the lack of awareness of the illness in younger people meant she went undiagnosed for a long time - and that needs to change.
Emily-Jane now works with Asbestos Support Central England to raise awareness.
