'Shock' at cancellation of Caribbean Carnival
People across Leicestershire are expressing their shock and disappointment that Leicester's 'Caribbean Carnival' has been cancelled.
The annual celebration was due to take place in Victoria Park on 3rd August, but organisers say they've had to make the difficult decision to cancel because of financial challenges. The Carnival has been a summer fixture in Leicester since the 1980's.
Ady Dayman hears from Elvy Morton, the co-chair of the first Leicester Caribbean Carnival in 1985, and Tkai Coore, last year's Festival Queen.
And Jo Bostock speaks to Dennis Christopher, the chair of Leicester Carribean Carnival, to find out why he made the decision to call off this year's celebrations.
