We are celebrating the Make a Difference Awards here on 大象传媒 Radio Leicester.

Over the last few months we've received hundred of nominations for the incredible people that make our area a better place to live.

This week, you'll be meeting the nominees in our all new Animal category, which celebrates an animal that improves the life of people in our area, or those working with animals to improve their welfare.

The team at Leicester Animal Aid, provide shelter and rehoming for pets that need a second chance. But as Matt Smith found out, they do so much more than that:
