Kidderminster's Sophie: 'How I got a new skull'
The 24-year-old received a pioneering operation for a second chance at life, following a horrendous car crash in 2018, in Bewdley. She was left in a coma, had three strokes, and spent three weeks in intensive care.
Surgeons had to remove most of her skull to save her life - leaving her on a waiting list for a replacement, in the knowledge that any knock to the head could prove fatal.
At one point Sophie Price was given a temporary titanium skull, which had to be removed after it got infected.
Now, two years after we took up her plight, she has had her operation, with surgeons giving her a new permanent skull made of 'bone cement'.
Tom Edwards reports with step-dad Lee, mum Andrea and Sophie's partner, Josh.
