Parents call for steps to improve school transport
Louise Fewster meets parents who run a car sharing scheme to ferry their children to and from their secondary school due to lack of transport. The pupils live outside the catchment area for Brayton Academy near Selby and do not qualify for home-to-school transport. The parents who operate this scheme currently drive 55 children to and from the school and warn that the number of pupils car sharing will double in September unless the issue of poor transport is tackled. North Yorkshire Council has told the 大象传媒 that parents are responsible for the travel arrangements and costs outside the qualifying distance.
