‘We’ve been given a life sentence’

39-year-old Claire Adkins was killed in a car crash in Spetchley in February 2024. Her family say they want the man responsible to be given a longer sentence.

Leo Painter, 6, and Courtney Hemming, 26, also died following the crash on the A44.

Joe-Lewis Tyler, of no fixed address, was well over the legal alcohol limit, and under the influence of cocaine and cannabis.

The 34-year-old was also driving uninsured, and going at about 90 miles per hour in a 50 zone.

The victims' loved ones have now requested for the sentence to be re-considered under the 'Unduly Lenient Sentence Scheme'.

Claire's mum, Julia Earlam, describes her daughter to our reporter Matt Hutchinson, and explains how she wants her to be remembered.
