Meet the finalists in the Fundraiser category for 大象传媒 Radio Solent's Make a Difference Awards for 2024. The Fundraiser Award celebrates people who have gone the extra mile to raise funds for a good cause.

Pauline Steel from Fareham has run weekly tea dances and dance events at Titchfield Community Centre for over 40 years, raising over 拢92,000 for the Community Centre. "Pauline is a very special lady with a huge community spirit, whose dedication and fundraising talents deserve recognition. Those who attend her dances benefit from the social aspect as well as the opportunity to dance." Pauline also runs weekly tea dances at Thorngate Hall in Gosport.

Terri Peay, from Weymouth, sadly lost her brother, Daniel, to the sea in 2020. Weymouth Lifeboat recovered him so his family could lay him to rest. Terri wanted a way of saying thank-you to the RNLI so completed a 200km fund-raising challenge in memory of her brother, and to mark the RNLI's 200th anniversary.

PLANETS Cancer Charity helps patients with pancreatic, liver, colorectal, gastric, oesophageal and neuroendocrine cancer by funding patient support groups, innovative treatments and research. Since their launch in 2011 they have raised more than 拢2,000,000.

Stefanie Hunt from Marchwood was nominated for fundraising over 拢12,000 a year for Simon Says - a Hampshire-based child bereavement charity. She organises raffles, quiz nights and an annual charity golf day.

The Make a Difference Awards are your chance to say 鈥淭hank You鈥 and show recognition and appreciation for people who love to make life better for others. Nominations for the 2024 awards have now closed and finalists have been selected by a panel of judges. The winners will be announced at our 大象传媒 Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards ceremony in September.
