‘I want to encourage more kids to be aware of the natural world’
Carol Klein is one of the UK’s best loved horticulturalists and TV gardening presenters, from shows like Gardener’s World to Wild About Your Garden.
Carol told Woman’s Hour presenter Krupa Padhy that she thinks gardening and horticulture should be taught in schools to put children in touch with the natural world around them.
As a teenager, Carol quietly enjoyed gardening, but she wants it to become part of the curriculum to help people realise how important nature is.
Carol was on the programme discussing her new memoir, Hortobiography – a Gritty Woman’s Tale of People, Places and Plants.
