New CALM campaign focuses on youth suicide
Two parents from Leicestershire, who both lost their sons to suicide five years ago, have got together to support a new campaign aimed at bringing down the number of young people who take their own lives.
The charity CALM is behind the plan which focuses on young people's mental health. It is prompted by research showing that suicide is now the leading cause of death for people under 34 in the UK, with women under the age of 24 forming the fastest growing group in history at risk of taking their own lives.
Indila Simandi lost her son Adam when he was just 18, and Pete Kenny lost his son Jamie just after he finished his A-Levels.
Since then, the pair have become friends. They've been talking to 大象传媒 Leicester's Ellis Maddison.
