Community group bringing African people together in Southampton
The United Voice of African Association in Southampton are one of the finalists for the Morning Live Community Award.
The United Voice of African Association is an umbrella organisation for African people in Southampton and the surrounding area. They are one of the finalists for the Morning Live Community Award, in the 大象传媒 Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards for 2024. This Award is for people who have helped to genuinely change the lives of others within their community.
TUVAA brings together African groups from different countries, sharing cultures and traditions. "They do a lot of partnership work with voluntary organisations and community groups to promote integration and deliver support services impacting the lives of ordinary people."
TUVAA also helps to deliver accessible and affordable swimming lessons to members and supporters in the Southampton area. "Feedback from the participants is overwhelming positive with many returnees each term after gaining the confidence to be in the water."
The Make a Difference Awards are your chance to say 鈥淭hank You鈥 and show recognition and appreciation for people who love to make life better for others. Nominations for the 2024 awards have now closed and finalists have been selected by a panel of judges. The winners will be announced at our 大象传媒 Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards ceremony in September.
