How Droitwich brine ‘could beat superbugs’

Discover what is being hailed as a potential breakthrough in the battle against antibiotic resistance, from a very unlikely source.

Droitwich Spa's historic brine is more highly concentrated in salt than the Dead Sea, and the two hundred million-year-old substance could be used, according to researchers, to create a new antibiotic, that could treat bacteria such as MRSA.

After teaming up with local councillors, Churchfields Saltworks, and The Open University, our reporter Alistair Binney meets Bob Brookes and Will Kerton to see the science, and the bottling, for himself.
