The number of betting adverts during the opening weekend of the Premier League trebled this year. This number includes pitchside hoardings, shirt logos, as well as ads on radio and social media. Researchers at the University of Bristol counted more than 29,000 gambling messages. Researchers say fans and children are being put at risk but the Betting and Gaming council says, 鈥渢he previous government stated research did not establish a causal link between exposure to advertising and the development of problem gambling.鈥
