Hove: 'It should have been sorted a long time ago'
Residents are fed up a twitten has been closed for over a year and just want their short-cut back.
George Carden reports.
Brighton and Hove Councillor Trevor Muten said: 鈥淎 structural engineer visited the site last week and we鈥檙e expecting to receive their report imminently. We have asked this is done as a matter of urgency. Once we have a report, which confirms that there is danger, we can then submit a Section 78 Notice on No 56, allowing us to remove the unsafe sections of the wall and reopen the path. We have contractors ready to do the necessary work as soon as the notice has been submitted and we鈥檙e continuing to remove any notices on our highways which claim this is private property. It is not. We have made a legal order confirming it as an official public footpath. I want to reassure residents everything is being done to get the footpath reopened quickly and I鈥檓 confident this can be done very soon.鈥
