Officer Blake in the Witness Box: The Cross-Examination
Under questioning from the prosecution, Martyn Blake tells the jury he did not aim for Chris Kaba's head or intend to kill him.
Follow the trial of Metropolitan firearms officer Martyn Blake, who has been charged with the murder of Chris Kaba. Chris died from a single gunshot after being stopped by police in Streatham, south London, on Tuesday 5 September 2022. Martyn Blake, who was previously known only as NX121, has pleaded not guilty to murder.
In this episode, reporters Adina Campbell and Ross Ryan follow the prosecution's cross-examination of Martyn Blake, where they accuse him of intending to aim for Chris Kaba's head and kill him. They hear Martyn Blake's denial and insistence he was aiming at the 'central body mass' of Mr Kaba, and that he intended only to stop the car he was driving.
