KuPS: The first team to qualify for the 2025/26 Champions League
The 2024/25 Champions League hadn’t even reach matchday three of the new league phase when a team had already confirmed their spot in next season’s competition.
Kuopion Palloseura, commonly referred to as KuPS, won Finland’s Veikkausliiga after beating HJK Helsinki 1-0.
The league title not only booked their place in the Champions League as champions, but they also completed the league and cup double.
KuPS goalkeeper Johannes Kriedl speaks to Sportsworld’s Mani Djazmi with the team’s celebrations ongoing.
