Miriam Margolyes: 'I won't be downed' by osteoporosis
One of the UK's best-loved actors, Miriam Margolyes, has said she "won't be downed" by osteoporosis.
Osteoporosis, a condition that weakens bones, making them fragile and more likely to break - develops slowly over several years.
The Harry Potter star jokes that when getting a massage, she reminds her masseuse to not "sit on me".
Miriam, who also has spinal stenosis, has been open about her conditions but says she won't let it define her life.
"If we take control of our illness as best we can, it's a very good psychological stimulus to getting on with life and not being downed by something with six syllables", she said.
