Meet the new inhabitants of the multi-million pound transformed historic building, who say they will be at the helm of a jobs booms for the city.

Developers are turning the site in to 28 luxury apartments, with the ground floor being taken over by two businesses, the IT firm GBG and maths tutoring group Mathnasium, who both intend to move in between December 2024 and January 2025.

Tom Edwards reports from the old fire station, which dates back to 1939, in its unusual art deco building which faces out on to the Deansway.
